Happy Thanksgiving! But Whom Do You Thank?

Whom will you thank next Thursday on Thanksgiving Day? The Pilgrims thanked God the Creator, but what if you don't believe in the Creator? What then?

Well, you might thank your parents for giving you life. Especially, if you were born since 1973, since they could have offed you before you were born, all in accordance with the Law of the Land. But what if you're not even sure about the meaning and purpose of your life anyway? Whom do you thank then?--What about this man, Jesus Christ of Nazareth?

Yes, Jesus Christ, who loved us and "gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2b). Why not thank him for what he did when he allowed himself to be humiliated, tortured and murdered out of love for us sinners?

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
